Collaboration with the science genius :iconskaros444: who made the animatronic wings and armature.

Large owl-like feathers were made of a plastic-like core and bed sheets. Airbrushed horribly.

Is the sound from the motor on these noticible? And will the 'arm' structure part and back part be covered? And how is is it controlled? Haha sorry for the questions ^^; Just want articulating wings for my suit eventually and these are some of the best Ive seen!

The motor noises are mostly muffled by the fur and feathers, and in a convention, nobody can hear them.
They are controlled by sensors your brain operates.

I was just wondering how exactly you made the feathers if you don't mind my asking. i'm planning on making mine out of poster board but i was wondering if you had some sort of tutorial as to how you made them. ^^

Basically, get interfacing from a fabric store (the kind that is semi rigid like in tuxedo collars) and iron/glue/press (however you'd like to tackle it) onto a sheet of linen on both sides! Paint or airbrush to fit your tastes and string them up! :)

Unfortunately I made these in a hurry and didnt capture photos of them in progress.... But I will for my upcoming owl arm-wings!
