Tusken Raider and His Baby Bantha by Zhon Tusken Raider and His Baby Bantha by Zhon
Went to Starfest this weekend!!!

I, of course, went as a baby Bantha! And I even found a Tusken Raider at the convention as well as a themed wall with Han Solo encased in carbonite.

The convention was a big ball of fun! (hairy, sweaty, shoulder-torturing fun, but awesome nonetheless!)

If banthas are on a desert planet, with two suns, why do they have THAT much FUR!!!??

Anyway! I even took the Bantha up on stage for the costume contest, and won 1st place in the Media Sci-Fi section! Yay!
So this would be my second winner costume since the TaunTaun (which I hope to re-make)

The Tusken Raider pictured with me (along with the decorative wall with Han) was all a part of the setup the 501st Legion! They are a club of badasses!!!

Enjoy!!!

I want that in my house!  What did you use for materials?  Bison?  Musk ox?  It looks phenomenal.

That is a full musk ox pelt minus the feet! LOL!
It's a hell of a costume to wear!
Photos from Denver Comic Con 2012 (last few photos) ....It gets hot under a pelt like that!

Whoa, I can't imagine being in that in a hot convention.  Can it be made into a lifesize piece?

If I wanted to, I can peel off the hide from behind the neck, sew the original head and feet on it, and turn the pelt back into a lifesize musk ox. I have thought about making a musk ox bean-bag type chair with a mounted head.... But cleaning it would be quite the chore.... The vacuum would die sucking up 2 foot long hairs.

If I wasn't so scared of the price tag I would have you traditionally mount it and ship it up!

Lol!
The only way I think I could get a musk ox to you is if you had the form set up, and I flew up to Alaska with the skin. It would take me a week to put together if I had help with the sewing!

Ok.  When do you have time off?

Hah! Not sure when. It's not the matter of time off so much as method/cost of getting there.
