This makes me wish I'd held on to my '91 toyota Tercel junker :C That thing was so much freaking fun. Plus you can turn them into tercel turbos xD uhhmmm... I miss the 'ol Captain... He was my first car, and a stick, too! Ever since then, I've wanted another manual, but they're surprisingly hard to come by here :/ My car now is a pos D: you'd think a '05 nissan sentra would be more reliable than a beat up, 19 year old, 148,000 mile, failing clutch tercel, but you'd be wrong... Ah well, saving up for that '03 convertable mustang xP
Btw, love the hood xD My fiancee and I did a "custom" paint on the tercel. It was already a dull red, so we spray painted the whole top of it a dull black, and I was going to put a white skull and cross bones on the hood, but sadly it was sent to it's junkyard grave by my fiancee's parents, not a year after I gave it to him. :C
Manuals are amazing, just saying. Once you learn to drive one, you never want to drive an auto.
I pass by a '88 Tercel on my way to work everyday! I hear those things are indestructible. The one I pass daily is so rusty it wouldnt pass inspection for road legality. LOL! But apparently it runs! it parks in different places every now and then.
(and I am super lazy...Manuals may turn out to be fun...but Automatics will always have that special place in my heart when my feet are tired)
Oh yeah, they are qute indestructible xD (except for the clutch, but i believe that was my bad. I liked to ride the clutch on hills xP ) My fiancee left the keys in the car and locked it, so unlike any normal person who would just pry the window down... He popped the lock on the trunk. But it still wouldn't open! So he tryed to pry it open. Wouldn't budge. THEN. He broke the back passenger window. Which wasn't a door window, since it was a coupe xP
The reason his parents junked it though, which made me mad, was that the battery died :/
xD Yeah when i started driving it, it wore my foot out. But after a while I never even thought about it. In fact even now I'll occasionally put my left foot on the break pedal when I start my nissan xD (you had to push the clutch on the tercel to start it)
Cant wait til I can hear that rotary purr!

and also loving how you guys are discussing being able to drive shift, we in england do it all the time XD
We americans are so spoiled-rotten and lazy...Manual transmission is a dying art here.
