Refurbished Mononoke White Wolf by Zhon Refurbished Mononoke White Wolf by Zhon
This is one of my Original Mononoke Wolf headdress costumes!
(traded for it back, refurbished him, and I was going to keep him, but one of my other wolves turned into a headdress has bribed me into keeping him instead of this one.)

This is a SUPER pale white wolf!! Remarkable markings!

This beast of a wolf is HUGE! Boasting a good 78" nose to tail (almost 80 inches!!)
Has a beautiful face with super floofy neck mane!

Would be a wonderful addition to anyone's den. He makes for a great snuggle buddy! And he will help draw you so much attention at conventions! I know when I took him to NDK, I couldnt go 10 feet without someone stopping me for a photo! Barbarians at the Renaissance Fire also loved him!

THIS PARTICULAR WOLF HAS SOLD!
Please keep an eye on my journal or gallery for new creations! :D

You shouldn't really support animal rights- Animal welfare is better.

Animal rights means:
No pets
No service pets (Blind guide dogs included)
No Animal products (Fur, meat, eggs, wool... )

If you eat meat, ever used yarn, have a wool sweater, you aren't an animal rights supporter.
Animal welfare is ensuring the well-being and lack of cruelty to animals/

Animal rights is silly. An animal cannot make a choice for itself

Do you even read artist comments?

1- She did a conservation of this creature's beauty through Taxidermy, which is the whole idea of it
2- They are not the cutest animals in the whole world, that is your own opinion, so is not an statement
3- She didn't kill the wolf, she only received the pelt. Look on Google information about for population control or responsible hunting (interesting to know whenever you agree or not)

This is a real wolf pelt and no she did not kill it. Grey and Arctic wolves are shot legally due to population control so they won't eat out the other animals in their habitat. Nothing of course is wasted, everything is recycled such as the meat is fed to other animals or is cooked to eat, the bones are bought from other taxidermists who find a good use for them.

This one was a garment tan from Glacier Wear. Not as pliable to work with, but still came out nice!

nice, i'm assuming it's a white garment tan (the leather is white, not the buckskin color). wish i had the money for it, lol. i'm a wildlife ecology student and i side study Native American culture, which includes garments similar to this. plus i love wolves and i'm specializing in wolf ecology and behavior. you did beautiful work with the hide. have you thought about trying to tint/dye hides? just curious, not sure how many of these you have done or what other things you've done with hides

Yep! it is a very white and clean garment tan.
Thanks!
And i have tried dying furs....but have not gotten it down yet. My last attempt is in my gallery and was to make a white mountain lion gray for a fake Snow Leopard.....and it came out BLUE of all things!!! Lol!

How did you dye it? I should say, what method did you use to dye it?

I used people hair dye. Something called Ash Gray or something (since the fur was already white it did not need to be bleached again) so I died it old-lady gray and it came out purple. Figuring that didnt work, I tried washing it with RIT fabric dye and it just went blue.

Try using an air brush and lacquer paint or hide dye (something like this [link]). Air brush works the best but it does take a while if you're doing large areas. I'd practice with something small like scrap hide or rabbit skins first before you do something large like a cougar or wolf. Air brushing usually won't change it entirely, but you'll get a big color difference and if you make a light hide darker then it will usually get stained. If you use laquer paint, you'll need acetone to clean the air brush, it's available at any hardware store.

He's holding up great. I had a problem with a small tear on one paw turning into a big one but that's my own fault for not taking care of it while it was small, I just glued some color-matching cloth to it and it fixed that fine. He's tolerating loads of sticky children's hands all over him very well, a light combing takes care of everything! I treated him super fragile for the first few months and then it got cold and I decided that if anything happened I'd just deal with it, and nothing happened, he's fine :D
