Here's a Caracal and Jackal skull I did up in tribals for
Tribals were done in India ink and sealed with a matte finish coating to protect the markings and keep the bone from drying out and cracking. I shoulda glassed them.... that'd be cool! Perhaps next time!
I really like how these two came out! Very pretty and compliment each other.
Well, the old one isn't really "broken" ... just I caught the jaw as it popped off. I may reassemble it.... or make a new one out of one of my Civet skulls!
You want a goose one?!?!?!?! I can make it!!! I got 3 goose skulls being cleaned! 2 Hutchinsons and 1 Greater.
Eeek! They look so beautiful! I just took my jackal out right now as I opened this. (I pack them up for when I am at school so the kitties don't try and play with them) They are so gorgeous.
I am going to say this for anyone looking: Pictures do not do art any justice, including these pieces. You can't get the real beauty of these skulls until you see them. Oh MAAN! Thanks again! EEK
xD I'm so glad you are happy with them! I honestly think they look pretty awesome! Definately Better than some I've done in the past! These may be the best thus far!
I'm so happy for them! Thank you for commissioning them!
Glassing... is a thin glassy coat over the skulls. It's like a thick glossy resin. I also use it to make fake water for my taxidermy. Almost acts like an invisible force field around the skull in this case (the duiker skull in my gallery was done in it.)

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
