Celestial Coyote by Zhon Celestial Coyote by Zhon
The bracelet of the hound of the Heavens.

A triple coyote claw bracelet. Middle claw was off a blonde coyote (note how the keratin of the claw had grown a translucent ivory colour)

Howlite and Moonstone adorn the entire length of the bracelet.

Made of Memory Wire so it can serve a double use as a choker necklace.

Enjoy!

*sigh* Due to an unfortunate turn of events, I don't think I'm going to be able to afford your necklace. :( It is absolutely stunning though, I love it. Thanks for your kind replies and offers.

Do you use just a regular power drill to pierce the bone? Just curious, because I've collected some bits from a dead coyote that got hit by a car last winter but never got picked up by the roadkill crew, and I'm interested in making something similar to this.

No, I use a dremel tool with a small .7-.9 mm bit.
Bones are easily cleaned by simmering them in water until any gristle/meat scrapes off.
You can whiten bone with 40 Volume peroxide that's available at hair salons. Bleach like Chlorox isn't recommended as it will cause bone to flake and crumble in a couple years.

Thanks. :) I've cleaned a pig skull before (or attempted to, the outcome was bad because I had to take it off the fire early) but my mom threw a fit when she found out it had been on her stove (I don't know why, it isn't like I was rubbing its brains on her counter or anything).

Fortunately, all the flesh has rotted off the coyote and its bones are pretty much sun-bleached, so I don't think I have to worry too much.

Hahahah!!!
Sounds like my mom.... she about died when I brought home my first roadkill raccoon.... banished me to the backyard where I cleaned it.
What moms don't understand is that a baked/boiled skull is COMPLETELY sanitary... it's the cleanest sterile thing to look and smell gross.

Very nice! I like how the claw is unique in the fact that it has that ivory keratin effect. Well done! :D

Yeah, the blonde ones are very pretty... almost believable for white wolves, though smaller.

You are very welcom. Oh yeah, I got some coyote claws that I scavenged up. I was thinking about putting them on a neclace. Does that sound ood, or should I use something bigger?

Kay. Will do. I was actually gonna put them on a neclace that consists of an genuine arrow head that I found in the center, deer antler beads, and n assortment of teeth. I'll have to take a picture of what I have done so far.
