Battle Ready by Zhon Battle Ready by Zhon
Lord Carthage in his glorious warrior armor, made from the hide of a terrifying crimson anaconda he faced many years ago.

Now he stands ready to take on the vicious wolf clan of the Jag-Tooth Mountains, and take back what was rightfully his.

Here's a Happy Halloween to everyone!!! :skull: :pumpkin:

________________________

Probably the best plush I've made thus far!
He is my personal plushed animal. And simply my favourite of every plush I've made.

Fully custom with my new double wire system which allows him to stand up on all four legs and sortof sit on his hind legs with little help.

His armor is made from real anaconda skin and vegetable tanned cow leather. I will be elaborating on his armor, which will include a back and perhaps even a little helmet. But as of right now he's going barbarian-style!

Note: I can make armor for plushes for those who wish to have some custom made, however, without having the plush here to be fitted, I could only take armor commissions for animals I have done (since every one is different in size, shape and anatomy)

(I have nicknamed him Mazda...simply because I love Mazda cars and figured if FoxyCreations has a personal plush named Audi, it wouldn't be totally absurd if I had Mazda)

I bought a wolverine pelt at the Fur Rondy fur auction in Anchorage years ago.  They aren't cheap!

His eyes are actually produced by the company Tohickon. I used their Bear type eyes for him in the Optech style.
These people are the industry leader in glass eyes: [link]

So cute! I have a few questions. Does the fur ever rot? Or like does the plush come apart after a while? I'd love a coyote one if I knew..

And actually, there are future issues that will happen with plushes. (being that they are a new fad, i dont think any are suffering any issues at the moment)

One big killer of tanned fur is water. If it gets wet and doesnt dry quickly, the chemicals inside the leather begin to deteriorate, causing the leather/fur to rip. The common terms for such deterioration is "dry rot" meaning the oils in the leather are worn away, leaving the leather to crack unwillingly. And "acid rot" meaning that the chemicals in the leather turn really acidic (not to the touch, and it wouldnt harm a handler from the fur side because its such a trace amount) but acid rot makes the hide really tender, and often discolour.

Excessive posing will also put strain on the leatherhide and it will be more prone to crack in the most posed/creased areas.

But, if the plush is made with a fresh commercial tan from a professional tannery, the acid rot/dry rot will not take effect for a good 20-30 years.

Why haven't I commented on this :la: it's fabulous, he looks so real! I want to read your story about them and I can't wait to see some more photographs too! I'd love a wolverine plush or pelt but they go right up to like $600 .o. maybe when I win the lottery (Yes, I plan to win soon! LOL)

When my coyote's finished could you keep his measurments? I'm interested in comissioning you for some armour when I've got cash after my birthday ♥
